Abstract

This analysis aims to determine the chemical composition of the glass composer and then compare it with the standard chemical composition for glass enameling. In this study also aims to determine the effect of sandpaper on low carbon steel by looking at micro and adhesion between enamel and low carbon steel surface. This study uses SEM (Scaning Electron Microscope) test to determine the chemical composition of glass. Meanwhile, to determine the effect of sandpaper on low carbon steel surface, surface roughness testing and micro photo testing were done. To know the result of tightness of glass coating test which is done that is bonding test which according to European Standard EN10209. From the test results can be concluded that glass that can be used in glass coating is a glass that has a chemical composition close to the standard chemical composition of enamel glass is a low percentage of silica content and the percentage of alumina and floor are quite high. In testing of micro and bond photographs of the effect of sandpaper on the surface of low carbon steel obtained the result of attachment (strength of bonding)
