Pengembangan Material Kertas Daur Ulang dengan Sabut Kelapa Terhadap Beberapa Pengujian dengan Variasi Konsentrasi NaOH 2%, 4%, 6% dan 8%

Abstract

Today paper is a vital necessity for people. But in other side paper can making rubbish that poison the environment. Rubbish’s paper is one of the biggest rubbish in Indonesia. Actually paper waste can be recycled to be a new paper that has a benefit and economic value. This research purpose is to know the tensile strenght, tearing strenght and microstructure of recycling paper. It was produced by using waste paper of HVS 70 gram, coconut husk, NaOH, and tapioca powder as an adhesive. The NaOH concentration was varied from 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%. The tensile test result was shown that 6% NaOH concentration have the highest tensile strenght of 2,2774 Mpa, and the lowest tensile strenght was in 4% NaOH concentration of 1,1065 Mpa. The tearing test was shown that the highest tearing strenght was 4% NaOH concentration specimen with the value of 2,6145 Mpa. The lowest tearing was 1,8481 Mpa delivered from 8% concentration specimen. The microstructure of fracture and tear zone was shown that fiber pullout is not uniform
