Nuevas habilidades y competencias: el reto de los nuevos servicios en la biblioteca de un banco central

Abstract

The paper deals with the competencies and skills needed to develop new user services. It analyzes first the characteristics of the almost unknown Central Banks and International Financial Institutions libraries. Then, two concrete experiences developed by two of these libraries are described: the implementation of an on-demand management information tool (European Central Bank) and an alternative use of the catalog to contribute to the visibility of the research of the institution (Bank of Spain).
