1 archivo PDF (12 páginas)Este artículo estudia cómo la recepción crítica de la novela Don’t look and it won’t hurt (1972) del estadounidense Richard Peck (1934) ha atendido sólo uno de los hilos de la trama, el embarazo juvenil, para dejar de lado otro de los aspectos que, veinte años después, la cineasta Allison Anders (1954) recuperará en su adaptación cinematográfica Gas Food Lodging (1992). Para la autora, el largometraje viene a significar una lectura más amplia de la novela, comúnmente encasillada como “literatura juvenil”, ya que rescata y pone en primer plano la crítica social presente en el texto fuente. For the author, the film signifies a broader reading of the novel, commonly associated with Young Adult Literature, in the sense that it recovers and addresses the social criticism present in the original source.
