This note discusses the appropriate way of uniformizing the notion
of an L-valued frame introduced by A. Pultr and S. Rodabaugh in [Lattice-valued
frames, functor categories, and classes of sober spaces, Chapter 6 of Topological
and Algebraic Structures in Fuzzy Sets: A Handbook of Recent Developments in
the Mathematics of Fuzzy Sets, Kluwer, 2003]. It covers the case of a completely
distributive lattice L (which is, in a certain sense, the most general one) and studies
the corresponding category of uniform L-valued frames

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 
PARENTS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT 
CHARLESTON -- Matthew Giordano, son of Paul and Betty Giordano of Pontiac, 
is the recipient of a Parents Club Scholarship from Eastern Illinois University. 
The awards, presented at Eastern's Parents Weekend concert Oct. 29,. were 
established by the EIU Parents Club to provide annual scholarships for full-time 
undergraduate Eastern students in good academic standing with 12 credit hours 
earned. 
Scholarship recipients were chosen for their success in academics, contributions

to the quality of life at Eastern and the local community and efforts to meet their 
financial needs. 
Parents Club is an organization established to serve as a vital communication 
link between EIU and parents and as an advisory group to the administration 
concerning policies and procedures. It also is the means by which parents can become 
involved and informed about university issues and university life . 
Giordano, a 1991 graduate of Pontiac Township High School, is a junior political 
science/pre-law major at Eastern .

He is active in student government, having served as student representative to 
the Board of Governors Universities, the governing board for Eastern, Chicago State, 
Governors State, Northeastern and Western Illinois universities. 
His new position as student body vice president for public affairs will involve 
coordinating student lobbying efforts at the state Capitol and serving as student 
trustee to the Illinois Board of Higher Education and as the student member to the 
Charleston City Council. 
As the student coordinator for public affairs, Giordano plans to publis~ a Public 
Affairs Manual for Students that will serve as a guide for lobbying efforts. 
He is currently completing an internship in Eastern's Office of Planning and 
Public Affairs under Jill Nilsen, special assistant to the president. He is responsible for 
coordinating efforts to educate EIU alumni and the student body on higher education 
issues. 
Most recently,, Giordano served as Eastern's Centennial Homecoming 
coordinator. His duties included supervising a committee of 30 students and six 
advisors who assisted with the Homecoming court coronation, parade and alamni ball. 
Eastern, which is celebrating its 1 OOth anniversary in 1994-95, is a 
comprehensive university with more than 10,500 students and 46 undergraduate and 
27 graduate degree programs. It is a teaching institution which prides itself on the 
quality and affordability of its undergraduate program.
