Abstract

"Survey of workplace air following a mechanic's complaint of upper respiratory distress, diagnosed as allergic rhinitis and pharyngitis secondary to tobacco smoke, shows no evidence of accumulation of any respiratory irritants in the area. Medical studies are recommended to determine whether the worker's condition is a true allergic disorder associated with tobacco smoke, requiring relocation in a nonsmoking area." - NIOSHTIC-2NIOSHTIC no. 00027218197
