Carnivorous plants

Abstract

U ovu vrstu biljka ubrajamo njih četristotinjak. Jedno zajedničko svim vrstama je mehanizam razgradnje proteina. Naseljavaju različita područja cijelog svijeta a sve češće se pojavljuju i u cvjećarstvu. Prikazati njihove najvažnije karakteristike poput vanjskog izgleda, rasprostranjenosti te vrstu zamke.Carnivorous plants are exception in plant life. They have organs and life-cycle like every other plant. They have leaves, flowers and chlorophyll which gives them green colour. They grow in places which are poor on nitrates and phosphates and they can't produce enough nutriment by photosynthesis. In order to survive they had to develop some new mechanisms how to capture, degrade and adsorb proteins of their prey. Generally, preys are bugs and other Arthropods. About four hunderd species are included in this type of plants. Only thing they have in common is degradation of proteins. Carnivorous plants live in different places around the world and often are used in floriculture. There are 8 sorts of carnivorous plants that grow in Croatia. The goal of this work was to introduce few the most interesting genus and species of carnivorous plants. Show their most significant characteristics such as physiognomy, distribution and type of trap they form
