Deforestation in Europe

Abstract

Deforestacija je proces prisutan u cijelom svijetu. U znanstvenom su diskursu općenito zastupljeniji radovi koji se koncentriraju na deforestaciju tropskih kišnih šuma, ponajviše na porječje Amazone, zbog značajne raznolikosti i osjetljivosti flore i faune koja tamo obitava. Iako u manjoj mjeri, procesi deforestacije itekako su prisutni i u ostatku svijeta a, kao prostorni objekt proučavanja u ovom radu odabran je visoko industrijaliziran europski kontinent.Deforestation is a process that is happening all around the world. Scientific discourse is generally more focused on the deforestation of tropical forests, most notably the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, due to the considerable diversity and sensitivity of the flora and fauna that exists there. Although to a lesser extent, deforestation processes are present in the rest of the world, and as a spatial object of study in this paper, a highly industrialized European continent was chosen
