The purpose of the article is to determine prospects for development of the agricultural sector of the national economy, taking into account risks and possible options for state policy at the current stage of institutional changes. Stages of changes in the institutional environment in course of reforming of the Ukrainian agrarian sector were defined, and their characteristics were given. A variant forecast of the development prospects of the agricultural sector of the domestic economy was made, taking into account risks and possible directions of state policy at the present stage of institutional changes.
