Elucidating the mechanisms of cooperative calcium-calmodulin interactions: a structural systems biology approach-1

Abstract

Occupied site is assumed to influence and increase the affinity of the second site. The second site, in turn, increases the affinity of the third Cabinding site. The process continues until a CaM molecule is fully bound. This level of modelling allows a qualitative comparison of the concentration profiles for apo-, intermediate- and fully bound Ca-CaM species with and without cooperative binding as shown on Figure 5.
Copyright information:

Taken from "Elucidating the mechanisms of cooperative calcium-calmodulin interactions: a structural systems biology approach"

http://www.biomedcentral.com/1752-0509/2/48

BMC Systems Biology 2008;2():48-48.

Published online 2 Jun 2008

PMCID:PMC2435525.

</p
