Estensione e stato di conservazione della prateria di Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile antistante la Spiaggia Rosa (Isola di Budelli) = Extension and conservation of Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile meadow in front of the Spiaggia Rosa (Budelli Island)

Abstract

The extension and conservation of Posidonia oceanica in front of the beach "Spiaggia Rosa", located in Budelli Island, is investigated. The reason of the investigation is due to the decrease of the foraminifero Miniacina miniacea underlay the Posidonietum in the last few years. This decrease has, as a consequence a loss of the pink color of the beach due to Miniacina miniacea skeletons. After six years of total closure of the beach and its coastal water along 100 meters of coast, the Positonietum still has not recovered. The Positonietum low density and its low primary productivity show a degraded meadow with the presence of anchors drills that increased its loss of uniformity. Preliminary data show that Miniacina miniacea is rarely present or absent underlay the Posidonietum and this does not help the creation of new biocasts
