Introduction: The best strategy for management of patient with dyspepsia above 55 years old or younger patient which early diagnosed with dyspepsia and don’t have any alarm sign such as melena and GIB, is to test H.pylori and empiric AB treatment of all positive cases. Recently FDA approved HpSAT for screening, Active case diagnosing and evaluation after treatment of infection. Because of high prevalence of pylori in Ardebil, this study was design to evaluate the frequency of pylori in dyspeptic patient.
Material and method: In this study, 100 dyspeptic patients in Imam Hospital of Ardebil, after Screening by the means of questionnaire (Patients taking antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors in last 2 week and NSAID user patients were excluded.) were sent to lab for testing HpSAT. And results were analyzed in SPSS.
Results: 100 patients enrolled in the study. The study group consists of 60 men and 40 women. The average age was 35 years (14-57 years).The prevalence of H. pylori was 72% among dyspeptic patient (p-v0.50).
Discussion and conclusion: H.bacter pylori had a high prevalence between dyspeptic patients in Ardebil. Because of the low sample of this study and not a population base, some study with more patients must be design to confirm these results
