Possibilities of correlation between Geography and Croatian, Mathematics and History in the second educational cycle (fifth and sixth grade of elementary school)

Abstract

Mogućnosti ostvarivanja korelacije provjeravaju se u radu komparativnom i metodom analize sadržaja nastavnog programa Geografije u 5. i 6. razredu osnovne škole i nastavnih programa Hrvatskog jezika, Matematike i Povijesti u 5. i 6. razredu. Cilj rada je utvrditi u kojoj mjeri nastavni program Geografije u 5. i 6. razredu predviđa mogućnost korelacije Geografije s Hrvatskim jezikom, Matematikom i Povijesti te može li se ona ostvariti upotrebom odobrenih udžbenika kao sredstva poučavanja i učenja. Na kraju rada razrađeni su odabrani primjeri nastavnih jedinica kao novih mogućnosti korelacije Geografije s Hrvatskim jezikom, Matematikom i Poviješću u 5. i 6. razredu osnovne škole. Kvalitetno ostvarena korelacija nastavnih predmeta razmatra se u ovome radu kao jedna od ključnih mogućnosti suvremene nastave, čiji je cilj bolje razumijevanje nastavnih sadržaja i ostvarivanje odgojno-obrazovnih ishoda na planiranoj razini usvojenosti.The fifth and sixth grade Geography syllabi and the Croatian, Mathematics and History syllabi of the same grades are being compared and analyzed to check for the possibilities of correlation achievement. The object of this study is to define to which extent the fifth and sixth grade Geography syllabi assume the possibility of correlation with the mentioned school subjects and to see if it can be achieved by using the official pupils’ books as the teaching material. The end of this paper elaborates on the chosen examples of the teaching lessons as new options of correlation between Geography and Croatian, Mathematics and History in the fifth and sixth grade of elementary school. High standards of achieved school subjects correlation is being perceived as one of the key possibilities of the modern educational system, which aims at better understanding of the teaching contents and at achieving the educational outcomes on the planned acquisition level
