Life history data from samples collected from wild populations of sheepshead swordtail, X. birchmanni, in Hidalgo, Mexico. NAs indicate missing data.
Embryo staging was based on the methods described in Reznick DN, Endler JA. (1982) Evolution 86: 160-177, which in turn were based on the PhD thesis of SC Stearns.
The embryo stage codes are as follows:
VEE: Very early eyed
EE: Early eyed
LE: Late eyed
VLE: Very late eye
VY: Vitellogenic yol
