Exciton and polaron aspects in tetracyanoplatinates

Abstract

The influence of electron-hole and electron-phonon interaction on the lowest excited electron states is studied for the highly anisotropic tetracyanoplatinates. Calculations are performed in the continuum approximation of effective-mass theory, taking into account exciton and polaron corrections in anisotropic systems. The obtained results indicate the existence of delocalized and self-trapped exciton states and allow to understand details of the experimental data
