Dingy

Abstract

DingyThis is what one may call a modern version of the "_scow_" or "_Scoo_" which was used in the 1930[S]s[S] & 1940[S]s[S]. However, it is on a much smaller scale and is driven by a small out-board motor-hanging from 1 1/2-3 horse-power. Several such boats have been built in Gillams, chiefly for carrying around on camping trips. They are very light and can be carried on the top of a car. They are used chiefly on ponds - for trouting or just for pleasure - where one don't want speed-or size. Notice the handles on the sides, for carrying the boat. The first of the "dingys" was built about 1965. There are only three or four around at the present time. very Their ^small size makes them unpopular with most people.[over] G.M.Story FEB 1973JH FEB 1973 DICT CEN.not usedNot usedWithdrawnReverse of card at D_1591
