Abstract
Die reiche Bibliothekslandschaft in Großbritannien hat auch Frauenbibliotheken hervorgebracht, die dort eine wichtige Informationsquelle für Feminismus, Frauen- und Genderthemen darstellen. In Deutschland sind sie aber nur wenig dokumentiert. Um diesen Umstand entgegen zu wirken, wurden einige allgemeine Informationen zu Frauenbibliotheken in Großbritannien in dieser Arbeit zusammen getragen. Die Arbeit erläutert außerdem anhand von drei Bibliotheken die unterschiedlichen Konzeptionsmöglichkeiten und hebt die einzigartigen Sammlungen dieser Bibliotheken hervor. Zudem weißt die Arbeit auf Recherchevorgänge und -schwierigkeiten bei Informationen zu Frauenbibliotheken hin.The library scene in Great Britain is rich and generated women´s libraries, too. There they are a major information ressource on feminism, womens and gender issues, but they are not widely documented in Germany. This thesis collects some general informations about women´s libraries in Great Britain, to counteract this circumstance. Also this thesis illustrates possible conceptions and highlights the unique collections of these libraries. In addition, this thesis points out research processes and difficulties in the acquisition of informations about women´s libraries
