Diplomatical study of 23 number and h. 968-970 date register of Üskudar Kadiligi

Abstract

Kadı registers that shed the light on the social life of the Ottoman Empire are one of the most important sources for today historian. Because, Kadıregisters are top of history sources that thay look our social life, economical life, local history and town history of the Ottoman Empire. This registers were keeping with complaint of human life. The value of this historical sources are very importantour material and moral culture. In this thesis, 23. register of Üsküdar Kadılığıcontains h. 968-970 (m.1561-1563) registers. This registers which contain rich important infoımation about social life of Ottoman Empire belonged to debt cases, to inheritance cases, to runaway slave, to murder cases and about this situation judgement (hüccet). This thesis incule transcription of these pages, summary of these pages, chart of subject classfication. Thera are discription of Kadıregisters, general characteristics and importance in the part of the entrance. The second part of entrance, after referring about physical description, there is speelingpart which used while writting Kadıregisters. After that, the judgements (hüccet) are classified with their subject. Besides this, the cahrt of subject classification is prepared and the numbers of judgements about their subject are looked on the chart. After the entrance, the second part ofthesis, there is resding of registers and transcription is gived. In the third part, every registers which in the 23. register are worked on the summary looks on the chart with their judgements numbers and paper numbers. At the end of the thesis, index which consist of important person names,place names, subject and good names that they are in the 23. registers is prepared
