This study aims to determine the level of student obedience to
regulations in schools,the types of violations that students often commit and the
solutions provided by the school,as well as to find out what factors affect student
obedience to school rules.
This study used a mixed meditative approach between qualitative and
quantitative. This mixed method aims to harness the power of qualitative and
quantitative research methods as well. The strategy used is a sequential
exploratory strategy that is data collection and analysis of qualitative data in the
first stage, which is then followed by the collection and analysis of quantitative
data in the second stage based on the first-stage results.
The object of this research is at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom. The
subjects of the study were students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom class X,
XI and XII. The sample in this study was taken 10% of the existing population of
132 students. In this study using data collection methods such as semi-open
questionnaires, interviews, documentation and obeservation.
Based on the results of the study can be concluded that,(1) The level of
obedience of students in schools is quite obedient, it is evident that students who
commit less violations. Obedience can be defined in compliance with existing
rules, and not to violate them. Obedience is also related to respect and discipline.
Students who are respectful of teachers and regulations are considered more
devout and have better behavior. Regulation is considered as something
important, to be obeyed in order to create order in the school environment.(2) The
type of violation that often occurs in SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Jatinom is late to
school. The violation is a minor level violation. Most of the students claimed to
have never committed moderate and severe violations.Penalties or sanctions for
student offenses are awarded by the school based.(3) Factors that affect student
obedience to the rules in school, influenced by several internal and external
factors of each student such as, self-awareness, fear of being punished by BP,
feeling the responsibility of being a student, getting disciplined, wanting to be
better, afraid of being expelled from school, to be an exemplary student, being
forced, and embarrassed by friends
