Microbial contamination is one of the major challenges hampering the
application of in vitro micropropagationtechnique, to overcome the
contamination used Plant Preservative Mixtured(PPM) as an antimicrobial
bioside. Banana root and pseudo stem known have bioactive compounds such as
flavonoid, saponin, dantanin can be used as antibacterials. This study aims to
determine the ratio of potentialbiocide potential of exstract banana kepok root
and pseudo stem for the growth of green beans the in vitro. Methodology used
experimental method with completely randomized design with two factors: factor
1: Banana Root (P1), Banana Pseudo stem (P2) and factor 2: extract
concentration of 0,5% (K1), extract concentration of 0,25% (K2). Exstraction
banana kepok root and pseudo stem do with maseration method using ethanol
solvent 70% temperature reaches maximum 90o
C to get thickenedextract using
destilator.Parameters observed for 7 days from green bean seeds were percentage
of uncontaminated media, stem height, root number, leave number and
germination condition. Condition of sprouts on P1K1, P1K2, P2K2, control
negative as well control positive is normal. Extract of banana pseudo stem
concentration 0,25% effectively prevent contamination by 60% on growth of
green beans the in vitro
