Perbandingan Pemberian Kontras Bath Terhadap Nyeri Miogenik Gastroknemius pada Guru di SD 16 Muhammadiyah dan SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Kota Barat

Abstract

Background: Pain is physical discomfort allegedly caused by tissue damage, either intentionally or unintentionally. Pain in the gastrocnemius can occur when humans stood continuously without a break thus burdening the lower extremities. Case studies say that the profession with a high prevalence of the incidence of musculoskeletal injury is a teacher with the incidence rate of 79.1% and in the area of the lower extremities of 40.0% Objective: The aim of this study was to determine differences in the results of giving contrast bath for gastrocnemius myogenic pain on teacher at SD 16 Muhammadiyah and SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Kota Barat. Methods: The method was a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test with control group design. The samples were chosen using purposive sampling method that had to meet the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. Total samples of this study were 13 respondents. Results: The data were non-normal distributed, the Wilxocon statistical test obtained p value = 0.018 ( 0.05). Conclusions:Based on the data, it can be concluded that there were no differences shown between giving conventional contrast bath and contrast bath with the mixture of epsom salt for gastrocnemius myogenic pain on teacher at SD 16 Muhammadiyah and SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Kota Barat
