Abstract

Background: Many of the activities are usually carried out in a sitting position relatively long one of which is a gamers who play online games on the Internet. Therefore, long sitting position and ergonomic, can increase the risk of upper trapezius muscle spasm. Factors that could cause muscular upper trapezius become spasm is muscle work that is too excessive and its use is wrong (overuse), the injury both macro / micro trauma that can be caused with daily activities often use muscle work upper trapezius thus becoming tighness , Therapeutic methods used to reduce spasm one using Friction. Objective: To determine the effect of friction on the upper trapezius muscle spasm decrease in online game players. Methods: The research in this study is quasi-experimental with pre and post approach without control group design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with criteria insklusi, exclusion and drop out. Measurement of the upper trapezius muscle spasms use Description Verbal Scale (VDS). Hypothesis test used is the Wilcoxon test significance level used is p = 0.000 <0.05.
