Hubungan Antara Asupan Lemak Dan Status Gizi Dengan Status Menarche Dini Pada Siswi Di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Ketelan Surakarta

Abstract

Introduction: Menarche is the first menstruation that is experienced by adolescents. Fat intake and nutritional status will effect on the age of menarche. High fat intake and nutritional status increase the leptin serum that cause early menarche. The effects of early menarche are obesity, breast cancer, diabetic, and metabollic sindrome. Objective : This study aimed to determine the relationship between fat intake, nutritional status and early menarche status among girls at Muhammadiyah 1 Elementary School of Ketelan Surakarta. Methods : The design of this study was case control with subjects were 40 female elementary students that were selected through proportional random sampling method. Fat intake data were collected through 4 day of 24 hour food recall while nutritional status were assessed using BMI/age index. The data were analyzed using Chi-Square test Results : There was 45% students who had high fat intake while 55% normal fat intake. The number of students with normal nutritional status was 35% and those who were overweight was 65%. The number of students with early menarche status was 52,5%. The number of students with high fat intake and early menarche was 42,5%. The student who had fat intake showed the risk to early menarche status (p=0,001; PR= 4,45) than those who had normal fat intake. The student who were overweight showed the risk to early menarche status (p=0,004; PR= 4,00) than those who had normal nutritional status. Conclusion : There were significant relationships between fat intake, nutritional status and early menarche status among student at Muhammadiyah 1 Elementary School Ketelan of Surakarta .
