Abstract
The article discusses the travel diary of Jakub Szynkiewicz, the Mufti of Polish Muslims, from his trip to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1930. The aim of the Mufti’s trip was to attend the celebrations connected with the reisu-l-ulema of the Muslims of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia by Hafiz Ibrahim Maglajlic. Szynkiewicz’s report has both literary and historical values. The Polish Mufti was mainly interested in Muslim issues describing the reisu-l-ulema ceremony, presenting the reader with details of behind-thescene games related to the election of a new representative of Yugoslavian Muslims and describing the characteristics of Islam’s followers and their relations with other religious and ethnic groups inhabiting this area.Faculty of Philology.
