本发明提供一种改性锂离子电池正极材料,其特征在于,包括通式为Lix[(Ni0.8Co0.15)yM1-y]Al0.05O2的化合物,其中0.9≤x≤1.3,0.005≤y<0.5;M为Mg、Fe、Si、Ti、Nb、Zr或Ge。本发明提供的体相掺杂改性锂离子电池正极材料,向镍钴铝酸锂正极材料中引入一种强N-O键的掺杂离子,起到抑制Li层中Ni2+不可逆氧化和高度脱锂下空位重排引发的不可逆相变。从而实现了高镍正极材料在高电压下具有优异的循环稳定性,在提高工作电压的同时,显著提高正极材料的能量密度
