本发明公开了一种兼具大非晶形成能力与高磁热效应的Gd基块体非晶合金,其分子式为GdaNibAlcMd,其中M为B、Si、C、P中的一种或多种,a、b、c、d分别为对应元素的原子含量,并且满足50≤a≤60,10≤b≤40,10≤c≤40,0≤d≤10,a+b+c+d=100。与现有技术相比,本发明的Gd基块体非晶合金的直径能够达到2~3.5mm,最大磁熵变高达6.12~9.25Jkg-1K-1,磁致冷能力高达606~851Jkg-1,过冷液相区宽度高达40~60K,是一种在制冷技术领域中具有很好应用前景的合金材料
