Energy crisis and climate changes are now recognised as the key challenges faced by the human race. Many researchers are working towards solutions for the problems. One of the solutions is a wider use of sustainable energy to replace the traditional carbon-based resources. In order to support the researchers to develop this solution, current and up-to-date information and knowledge should be provided and made accessible automatically. One such channel is the World-Wide- Web. This paper surveys web technologies that are currently used to promote sustainable energy on the Web. This information will be used to support the next phase of a research aimed at extracting relevant information from the World-Wide-Web on sustainable energy automatically
