Jtilrsn+:ago.K 6;lr ojljAbstract:Background and Aim: Periodontal disease may cause adverse pregnancyoutcomes; low birth weight (LBW) or preterm birth (PTB). The aim ofthis study was assessing the periodontal status of women uterine growthretardation (IUGR) premature rapture of membranes (PROM) and vaginalbleeding.Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study the sample included50 women were seen at Afzalipour hospital of Kerman. All mothers hadPTB or LBW in their recent deliveries. The mothers' data were obtainedfrom medical files for medical risk factors. Periodontal clinicalexamination carried out after delivery; bleeding on probing, plaque indexand attachment loss were used for periodontal assessment. SPSS softwareV.23., descriptive indices, Spearman coefficient and logistic regressionmodel were used for data analysis.Results: Mean BOP and plaque index were 62.96+-22.87 and 89.84+-15.18 percent. All the patients had various forms of periodontalinvolvement;860/o with periodontitis.
