Abstract

This thesis focuses on the legal protection of street children by the city of Pontianak in the review of Regional Regulation Pontianak Nomor 3 2014 on the Implementation of Child Protection. Author of the study using sociological obtained legal research conclusions: 1). that form the legal protection provided by the city government pontianak against street children, generally occurs when children are involved or snagged criminal matters. For instance the rehabilitation of children who are addicted to drugs, advocating for children who commit offenses or have been victims of violence either physical or psychological, or it could be also due to the sale of children under age to perform prostitution and others. However, if children are not stuck way about anything, it seems less concerned Pontianak city government. It can be seen still eksisnya street children is that every day both day and night can be seen without any supervision from the municipality ponrtianak in this case the relevant agencies. 2). that the factors that cause Pontianak city government has not been optimal in gave the legal protection of street children is Weak supervision by the relevant agencies. Lack of coordination among agencies. Lifestyle Street Children. Non-Residents Pontianak. 3). strategic steps taken by the city government is the protection of children into separate program as outlined in RPJPD and RPJMD, but the program is at the level of less implementative translated by an agency or institution that is authorized, the tasks and functions of child protection. this is because there is no action or action carried out by the agency Agency for Human Empowerment of women, Kids and Family Planning. (BPMPAKB) against street children. The suggestions are: 1). berkoordianasi supervision by the relevant agencies so that street children obtain legal protection like like a child and does not become street children lagi.2). enhance the role of non-governmental organizations that concern about the street children.
