Indexación: Revista UNABPor medio del presente artículo se exploran las relaciones entre el concepto de
modernidad, entendido en el marco de la teoría crítica, y el de melancolía procedente del psicoanálisis. Ambos
se han relacionado frecuentemente en las discusiones sobre la posmodernidad, Aquí dichas relaciones
son analizadas desde el concepto más acotado de posilustración, como una forma más fecunda de
comprender el nuevo tono emocional de la modernidad.
Abstract: In the present paper, the relation ships between the concepts of modernity from the
critical theory stand point and the melancholy derived from psychoanalysis are explored. Both concepts
have been frequently related in
discussions about modemity. Here, the relations ships between these are analyzed from the concept
coming from pos-illustration, as a more effective way to understand the emotional atrnosphere ofthe
present modernity
