Villey de la noción de voluntad y voluntarismo en el beato
Juan Duns Scoto. Para ello se presenta la situación de los estudios
escotistas hasta mediados del siglo XX, como contexto
para la interpretación del profesor francés. Luego, se sigue
la exposición de Villey en sus lecciones sobre la doctrina de
Scoto, y se contrapone con lo que el Doctor Sutil afirma sobre
el fundamento del actuar libre de la voluntad en su Lectura.
A modo de conclusión, se da una visión crítica de Villey como
intérprete de Scoto.In this paper we examine Michel Villey’s interpretation of the
notions of will and voluntarism according to the blessed John
Duns Scotus. First of all, we present the state of Scotistic studies
until the first half of the 20th century, to provide a context for the
interpretation of the French professor. Then, we follow Villey’s
account of Scotus’ doctrine in his lessons, and we contrast
this account with what the Subtle Doctor states about the
foundation of the free acts of the will in his Lectura. We conclude
