El presente ensayo explone un marco de referencia histórico sobre la violencia en Colombia; en la primera parte se establece la relación existente entre guerra, política y violencia; en la segunda, se presenta un itenerario histórica de la violencia con sus continuidades y sus rupturas; y por último, se plantea una breve perspectiva de la violencia actual que azota la sociedad colombiana.This essay provides a historic reference concerning the violencie in Colombia; in the first part the author establishes the relationship that exists between war, politics and violence; in the second part, he presents an historic itinerary of the violence with is continuities and its ruptures. Finally, the essay gives a brief overview of the actual vialoence that scourges Colombian society
