El presente trabajo trata de la búsqueda de una metodología que le permita a una cadena de supermercados, descrita en el presente trabajo, tomar las decisiones más adecuadas sobre el surtido que manejan en sus supermercados, llegando a un surtido que le permita fidelizar a sus cliente y le traiga más rentabilidad a la empresa; uno de los motivos principales de la necesidad de estudio es la gran variedad de referencias y productos que tienen en las categorías de aseos principalmente desodorantes. Se hace una revisión bibliográfica para determinar la forma como otros países atacan este problema, nos encontramos con términos de satisfacción del surtido, rentabilización del surtido y optimización del mismo basado en las restricciones propias y la falsa mentalidad de que una mayor cantidad de referencias en el surtido garantiza una mejor percepción del mismo.
