La auditoría de cuentas es una actividad profesional con una gran trascendencia pública, puesto que el resultado de la misma se plasma en un informe que se presume cierto y completo, de forma que muchas decisiones van a ser tomadas guiándose por el criterio técnico que aporta el auditor con su trabajo. La auditoría ha sido regulada, tanto en nuestro país como a nivel comunitario, de forma que se asegure la eficacia de su actividad. Entre otros aspectos, el marco de responsabilidad del auditor adquiere una importancia esencial, en cuanto que es necesario establecer las líneas por las que el auditor va a responder como consecuencia de actos realizados en el seno de su trabajo. La responsabilidad civil va a ser objeto de un análisis primordial, dándose en los casos en los que el auditor lleve a cabo alguna actuación antijurídica, sin respetar lo establecido en su lex artis, y causando un daño o perjuicio a la entidad auditada o terceros, debiendo existir un nexo causal entre ambas.The audit of accounts is a professional activity which has a great public

made by the guidance of the technical posture which is given by the auditor with
their work. The audit has been regulated in our country and by the European
legislator both, with the aim of assuring the efficiency of the activity. Among
others, the frame of the responsibility of the auditor takes an essential
importance, because it is necessary to establish the boundaries from which the
auditor is going to respond as consequence of the acts done within their work.
Civil responsibility is going to be the principal aim, which will appear when the
auditor does unlawful actuations, without respecting what it is establish in their
lex artis, and causing a damage to the audited entity or third parties. In any
