Right-peripheral elements and text types in Ancient Greek

Abstract

El artículo profundiza en las funciones de los elementos de la periferia derecha (EPD) en griego antiguo. Analiza si hay variación en las funciones de estos elementos según el tipo de texto de que se trate. Se concluye que hay diferencias notables: en todos los tipos de texto considerados se dan las funciones de comentario o de especificación de un elemento de la oración, pero no en todos se producen las funciones que expresan interacción hablante / oyente.The paper studies the functions conveyed by the right-peripheral elements (RPE) in ancient Greek. It analyses whether text-types have any influence on the functions expressed by them. The conclusion is that there are interesting variations: commentary and specification functions are present in all of the texts analysed. Nonetheless, not all of these texts present functions related with the interaction of speaker and hearer
