Purpose : This  c r u i s e  was one of a  s e r i e s  t o  monitor s a r d i n e  
spawning i n  i n sho re  waters  of sou thern  C a l i f o r n i a .  
A l l  o t h e r  c r u i s e s  of t h i s  s e r i e s  were made us ing  
the  s k i f f  ANCHOVY. 
Operations: P lankton  tows were made a t  t h r e e  s t a t i o n s  i n  San 
Pedro Bay. 
Resu l t s  : Plankton saniples were s o r t e d  and a l l  f i s h  eggs and 
l a r v a e  s e n t  t o  Nat iona l  Marine F i s h e r i e s  Se rv i ce ,  
La J o l l a ,  f o r  i d e n t i f i c a t i o n .
