This work hopes to show the hard repression that was held in Cuba after the revolutionary process that made of the isle a socialist country leaded by Fidel Castro. As an example of that repression, I will mention Reinaldo Arenas, one of the most controversial Latin-American writers in the last century: a self confessed homosexual, an inveterate opponent of Castro and a brilliant writer. The starting point of this work will be 1969. Arenas is a known writer already, and he has got two books published. The ending point will be 1976, the year when Arenas was released after spending two years in the jail of El Morro, due to his anticommunist political ideas and his ties to the blooming homosexual culture in La Habana
