Formulate an environmental education strategy, for the protection of the tropical rainforest located in the vereda del Carmen in the town of Villavicencio - Meta, Colombia

Abstract

Debido a la preocupación por el deterioro del bosque húmedo tropical ubicado en la vereda del Carmen, se han establecido estrategias para prevenir y corregir impactos ambientales dados por la falta de educación ambiental a causa de los habitantes y turistas que frecuentan del espacio natural que brinda el bosque. En este sentido, la educación ambiental se orienta hacia la participación de los seres humanos como creadores de una realidad social con conciencia y pensamiento ético ambiental que se construyen en función de la interacción con su entorno natural. El presente documento busca plantear la formulación de una estrategia ambiental para la protección del bosque húmedo tropical. Para esto, se aplicó la metodología analítica de la matriz DOFA, herramienta por la cual permite establecer la aplicación de actividades lúdicas y pedagógicas, por medio de vistas, charlas, campañas de reciclaje con la comunidad y los turistas que frecuentan a la Vereda del Carmen con el fin de mejorar, recuperar, conservar, preservar y proteger el bosque.Due to the concern of the deterioration of the tropical rainforest located in the Vereda Del Carmen, strategies have been established to prevent and correct environmental impacts of the local population and tourists who visit the forest. Therefore the environmental education is oriented towards the participation of society as creators of a social understanding. This is achieved through developing the awareness of the environmental and ethical issues that occur, through interaction with the natural environment. The primary objective of this study is to formulate an environmental strategy, for the protection of the tropical rainforest. For this, the SWOT analysis method was applied. It is a tool that allows the establishment and the application of educational and recreational activities, through field trips, conversations and recycling campaigns with the tourists and the community of the Vereda Del Carmen.
