Thesis (Ph.D.)--Boston UniversityThe purpose of this study was to elucidate the extraglycolytic pathways of metabolism in the erythrocyte, mainly through the study of the metabolism of nucleosides in the erythrocyte ghost: and to study the effect of hemolysis on the metabolism of the erythrocyte. The structure, function and metabolism of the erythrocyte are reviewed.
