Os contes de Ma Mère l’Oye ou as Histoires ou Contes du temps passé assumem-se como reconstrução de uma história cultural e social da época setecentista pelo académico francês, Charles Perrault. Assim, modificam-se elementos simbólicos da estrutura dos contos tradicionais do século XII ao século XV de origem oral e popular e é neste processo de desconstrução/reconstrução que se aponta o carácter subversivo da obra do compilador que desvirtua ou destrói o fundo tradicional.
Este trabalho pretende mostrar até que ponto os contos de Perrault subvertem, de facto, o fundo simbólico dos contos tradicionais ou se, pelo contrário, os revalorizam em função de um estilo peculiar ou savant.
Através de uma leitura centrada na análise do mitologema do herói e da heroína e num constante diálogo entre a versão do académico e as versões originais dos autores renascentistas Giambattista Basile e Francesco Straparola assim como as versões posteriores dos irmãos Grimm, procura-se, finalmente, delinear as linhas de força que constituem o Universo particular de Significação de Charles Perrault.The Contes de Ma Mère l’Oye or the Histoires ou Contes du temps passé appear as a reconstruction of a cultural and social history of the eighteenth century by the French scholar, Charles Perrault. Thus, symbolic elements of the traditional structure of tales from the XII to the XV Centuries of oral and popular origin are modified and it is in this process of deconstruction/reconstruction that one shows the subversive character of the author which disrupts or destroys the traditional repertoire.
This paper intends to show how far Perrault’s tales subvert in fact the symbolic background of the traditional tales or if, on the contrary, revalue them with a peculiar or savant style.
Through a perspective based on the analysis of the hero and heroine paths and in a constant dialogue between the scholar’s version and the original versions of the Renaissance authors Giambattista Basile and Francesco Straparola and the version of the Grimm brothers that followed, one intends to outline, in the end, the characteristics of Charles Perrault’s own Universe of Signification
