From September 2006 to April 2008 associations of organic food producers and
traders in Germany organised 600 events for 13.000 farmers and entrepreneurs to
improve the transfer of knowledge between science and practice. Besides
communicating current research results, the project aimed at capturing the need for
further scientific studies. Producers, processors and traders have a very high interest
in further and profound research into the organic food business. Core questions are
not only on soil fertility or the quality of food but also on specific aspects of plant
protection, market development and welfare oriented animal husbandry
