O presente relatório de estágio traduz o trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito da componente não-lectiva do Mestrado em Arqueologia da NOVA-FCSH, constituindo-se como uma proposta de inventário para o património arqueológico industrial da cidade de Lisboa inserido no período compreendido entre a segunda metade do século XVIII e a primeira metade do século XX. Este trabalho de estágio foi desenvolvido com a Direcção-Geral do Património Cultural (DGPC), instituição responsável pela gestão do património cultural em Portugal continental e, particularmente, pela criação e gestão de inventários patrimoniais a nível nacional.
A partir da base de dados de sítios arqueológicos Endovélico e dos relatórios arquivados na DGPC relativos às intervenções arqueológicas realizadas nesta cidade nos últimos anos, e ainda contactando as principais empresas de arqueologia, procurou-se identificar e sistematizar as ocorrências correspondentes aos vestígios do período industrial, com o objectivo de compreender a evolução da instalação da indústria na cidade de Lisboa e reconhecer quais as evidências que ainda perduram no tempo e no espaço.
A realização deste trabalho de identificação, levantamento, sistematização de dados, e análise crítica do lugar da arqueologia industrial nos trabalhos arqueológicos realizados em Lisboa ao longo das últimas décadas, revela-se um passo essencial e inédito nos estudos deste campo e pretende contribuir para a sua continuada afirmação em Portugal, bem como para o conhecimento da evolução da ocupação da cidade.This report reflects the work developed throughout the second year of the Masters degree in Archaeology at NOVA-FCSH, revealing itself as a contribution for the creation of an inventory for the Industrial Heritage in the city of Lisbon between the 18th to the 20th century. The work took place at Direcção-Geral do Património Cultural, the institution responsible of managing the Portuguese cultural heritage and specifically for the development and management of inventories for cultural heritage nationwide.
From the research at the Endovélico database and the reports archived on the DGPC, of the archaeological activities that have taken place in the city of Lisbon in the past thirty years, reinforced by contacting archaeological companies, we aimed to identify and systematize the events connected to the industrial period. This task will help to understand which evidences endure in the present time and space.
The process of identification, recording, data systematizing and critical analysis of the place of industrial archaeology in the archaeological works in Lisbon in the last decades, reveals itself as a very important and unprecedented step in this field’s studies and investigations intending to give a contribute to its development in Portugal
