Zahvaljujući njenom biokemijskom sastavu (sličnom lucerni), Sida se u zelenoj fazi, može koristiti i kao visoko nutritivna hrana, sa sadržajem proteina i do 30% u vrijeme cvatnje. Sida omogućava i proizvodnju do 120 kg/ha kasnog prinosa meda.
