Práticas informacionais em meio a utopias e distopias da contemporaneidade

Abstract

Reflections on everyday informational practices in institutional contexts during times of crisis. Considering the complexity of the topic, this paper proposes informational utopias and dystopias adopt strategic positions as the conductor to such questionings. Therefore, it a) conceptualizes and brings examples of utopian and dystopian informational approaches; b) problematizes the neutral and non-neutral character of such technologies as, respectively, culture document or as means of communication; c) exemplifies older and current questions, identifying that, among different investigation paths, literary and cinematographic productions are relevant in the context where technology appears as an alternative for freedom and/or emancipation or for the control of information/knowledge and bodies. Concluding: when fiction and reality are mixed, such an interpretative path corroborates and demonstrates the relevance of utopian and dystopian dimensions of information for the reflection on informational practices during times of crisis
