Este trabajo aborda el estudio y edición de un poema panegírico conservado en un impreso de la Hispanic Society de Nueva York, en el que se xaltan las fiestas celebradas en el Puerto de Santa María con motivo del nacimiento del sucesor del duque de Medinaceli, señor de la ciudad, en 1637. El artículo representa también el pretexto para realizar una aproximación en la Edad Moderna, muy en boga en la actualidad, y para aportar nuevas perspectivas sobre la relación entre la nobleza señorial y la oligarquía local protuense del siglo XVII, ya abordada por el autor en anteriores contribucionesThis paper addresses the study and publication of a panegyric poem preserved in a print in the Hispanic Society of America in New York that exalts the festivities held in El Puerto de Santa María on the occasion of the birth of the successot to the Duke of Medinaceli, lord of the city, in 1637. The paper is also a pretext to approach studies on public pageantry in the early modern age, very much in vogue today, and provides new insights into the relationship between the nobility and local oligarchy in the town in the seventeenth century, which has already been examined by the author in previous contributions
