Abstract
El artículo de rituales del agua analiza la superviencia de ceremonias, danzas y fiestas alrededor del uso del agua en la cuenca del Rio Grande. En ambos lados de la frontera mexico americana se comparten rituales que son herencia colonial, mesoamericana. Se señala que continua viva una cultura del agua en las polaciones y pese a las presiones de la globalizacion , esta cultura sigue vigente une a la población, le da lenguaje y valores comunes, manifestandose en la simbologia de rituales, danzas, festividades que identifican a la poblacion. La importancia de estos rituales se deriva de la herencia culural que implican, de los procesos de adaptacion que representan y de los procesos de identidad que unen a mucha gente con su tierra y su paisaje.The study of the water culture in the Rio Grande - Rio Bravo basin in Northern Mexico and Soouthwestern US, analyzes the survival of ceremonies, dances around the water usage. It is clear that rituals associated to usage of water are common in both sides of the border of the US and Mexico, and they are related to the hispanic and mesoamerican inheritance. Those rituals fetch the root of water culture manifested in language common values, symbols of rituals, dances, parties, festivities and other social interactions. Åll those manifestations are located in several groups of population of the area. The importance of those rituals is provoked by its cultural inheritance implicatedas well as processes of social adaptation that they symbolize to the local people, and also their bonds and identitity
