Analisis Risiko Cemaran Tsp (Total Suspended Particulate) Pada Tahap Pembangunan Gedung Terhadap Kesehatan Pekerja (Studi Kasus: Proyek Pembangunan Apartemen Paltrow City Semarang, Jawa Tengah)

Abstract

[Risk Analysis of TSP (Total Suspended Particulate) at Building Construction Area towards Workers\u27 Health (Case Study: Paltrow City Apartement Construction Project, Semarang, Central Java )]. Air pollution is caused by several things, one of the many activities that can potientially increase air pollution is building construction activities. In the building construction activities, one of the pollutants that produced is TSP (Total Suspended Particulate), that have negative impact to human health. The magnitude of the effect that caused by TSP depends on the size of the particulates, concentration, and physical-chemical composition of the air. Continuous exposure of TSP can cause respiratory problems, therefore, a study or research about risk analysis of TSP at building construction area towards workers\u27 health is very nedeed. This research examined the risk analysis of TSP at building construction project that consist of three stages of works, which are concrete mixing activity, lean concrete activity, and transportation of materials. At each type of work, there are two sampling points. The main purposes of this research are to measure the concentration of TSP in each sampling point, to compare the measurement results with quality standards that are applicable, and to analyze the amount of TSP contamination risk to workers\u27 health. Methods on this research are done gradually, started with surveyingon sampling location and collectingof the TSP concentration sample, and then followed by laboratory analysis and calculations to determine the concentration of TSP, and the last wasdata-processing with risk analysis methods to determine the amount of TSP to workers\u27 health. Risk analysis study consists of four stages, which are hazard identification, exposure assessment, dose-response assessment, and risk characterization. From the results gathered, the highest concentration of TSP that measured was 795,691 µg/Nm3 that found on materials transportation activities sampling point 1 and the lowest concentration that measured was 186,811 µg/Nm3 , that found on lean concrete activity sampling point 1. From the results of the risk analysis gathered, the highest level of individual carcinogenic risk was 0,0514 or 5,14% that found on a worker who worked at material transportation activities sampling point 1 and the lowest was 0,007 or 0,77% that found on a worker who worked at lean concrete activity sampling point 1. The highest carcinogenic risk of TSP was found on materials transportation activities, and the lowest carcinogenic risk of TSP was found on lean concrete activity.TSP contamination risk values for all respondents resulting from the calculation were more than 1 x 10-4 (US-EPA, 2011a) or already passed the risk safe acceptable range. It showed non acceptable value and potentially caused cancer
