Trabalho de Projeto para obtenção de grau de Mestre em Intervenção Social Escolar apresentado à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco.Com este estudo pretendemos compreender a institucionalização de crianças e jovens, em regime de acolhimento no ADM Estrela, uma vez que se encontram em situações de risco face ao seu desenvolvimento. A questão central é a de perceber quais os apoios e intervenções que os agentes de acolhimento institucional junto da escola oferecem a esses rapazes institucionalizados, de modo a poderem construir o seu projeto de vida.
A pesquisa assenta nos seguintes objetivos: analisar a integração das crianças e jovens em risco, institucionalizadas no Lar de Acolhimento ADM Estrela, no contexto escolar, sabendo que frequentam escolas diferentes; conhecer as dificuldades de aprendizagem dessas crianças e jovens institucionalizados no seu processo de escolarização; relacionar o percurso socioeducativo dessas crianças e jovens institucionalizadas com o respetivo desempenho e rendimento escolar; analisar a intervenção dos técnicos da instituição ADM Estrela no processo escolar e formativo dessas crianças e jovens, em especial, no último ano da pandemia (2020); compreender a relação colaborativa entre a instituição de acolhimento e a escola, na melhoria das suas relações de convivência e de socialização; interpretar o processo de construção do projeto de vida das crianças e jovens, através das suas narrativas de vida em relação à instituição de acolhimento; identificar as perceções, sonhos e ambições das crianças e jovens e, por fim, conhecer a história de vida e o percurso das crianças institucionalizadas.
O modelo teórico conceptual guiou-se pela pesquisa de literatura e documental sobre o tema, clarificando alguns conceitos e abordando a legislação relacionada com os mesmos. Adotamos uma metodologia de investigação qualitativa, na modalidade de estudo caso, sob a alçada do paradigma interpretativo, abordando as informações e narrativas das crianças e jovens, sobre as suas experiências de institucionalização e de escolarização, no âmbito do seu desenvolvimento pessoal, escolar e social. Neste estudo intentamos compreender e interpretar os apoios e medidas para promover o sucesso destas crianças e jovens, na evolução do seu percurso escolar e projeto de vida. Utilizamos várias técnicas de recolha de dados: observação documental e participativa, inquérito por entrevista aos rapazes institucionalizados no ADM Estrela, entrevistas semiestruturadas aos diretores de turma e técnicos de acompanhamento do lar de acolhimento e notas de campo.
Fizemos a análise e tratamentos dos dados na base da análise de conteúdo, submetendo depois à triangulação dos mesmos, com a interpretação na base da teoria fundamentada. Os resultados confirmaram os contributos da instituição e da escola na construção do projeto de vida e aprendizagens dessas crianças e jovens.
Após a recolha e tratamento de dados fizemos um plano de intervenção composto por um conjunto de atividades socioeducativas, com o intuito de auxiliar a intervenção escolar, de modo a contribuir para o sucesso escolar, comportamento e projeto de vida dos rapazes que estão institucionalizados na ADM Estrela.With this study, we intend to understand the institutionalization of children and young people, in foster care at ADM Estrela, since they are in situations of risk in terms of their development. The central question is to understand what support and interventions the institutional reception agents at the school offer to these institutionalized boys, so that they can build their life project.
This research is based on the following objectives: to analyze the integration of children and young people at risk, institutionalized in the ADM Estrela Acolhimento Home, in the school context, knowing that they attend different schools; to know the learning difficulties of these institutionalized children and young people in their schooling process; relate the socio-educational path of these institutionalized children and young people with their performance and school performance; analyze the intervention of technicians from the ADM Estrela institution in the school and training process of these children and young people, especially in the last year of the pandemic (2020); understand the collaborative relationship between the host institution and the school, in the improvement of their relationships of coexistence and socialization; interpret the process of construction of the life project of children and young people, through their life narratives in relation to the host institution; to identify the perceptions, dreams and ambitions of children and young people and, finally, to know the life history and path of institutionalized children.
The conceptual theoretical model was guided by literature and document research on the subject, clarifying some concepts and addressing the legislation related to them. We adopted a qualitative research methodology, in the case study modality, under the scope of the interpretive paradigm, approaching the information and narratives of children and young people, about their experiences of institutionalization and schooling, within the scope of their personal, school and social development. . In this study we intend to understand and interpret the support and measures to promote the success of these children and young people, in the evolution of their school career and life project. We used several data collection techniques: documentary and participatory observation, an interview survey with institutionalized boys at ADM Estrela, semi-structured interviews with class directors and monitoring technicians at the shelter and field notes.
We analyzed and processed the data on the basis of content analysis, then subjected them to triangulation, with interpretation based on grounded theory. The results confirmed the contributions of the institution and the school in the construction of the life and learning project of these children and young people.
After collecting and processing data, we made an intervention plan composed of a set of socio-educational activities, with the aim of helping school intervention, in order to contribute to school success, behavior and life project of boys who are institutionalized in ADM Estrela
