Abstract

. This article entitled "Interpersonal Communication Patterns of Transgender in National Unity Park, District of Wenang." This research was conducted with the aim to explain the form of interpersonal communication and interpersonal communication patterns among transvestites and transsexuals with non-transgender community in the National Unity Park, District of Wenang. The topic of transsexual communication patterns chosen because the growing phenomenon of the existence of transvestites and the language that we use so that there should be research on transsexuals.This study uses qualitative research methods to the research subjects are transvestites who work in around the National Unity Park, District of Wenang. Informants were selected according to the needs and goals of research. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and observations of the subject and their interaction with the neighborhood. The data were analyzed qualitatively and data analysis was performed starting from the beginning, until the process is complete.The results showed that there are two forms of communication transvestites namely open and closed forms by using verbal and non-verbal media. This form will be the basis of communication patterns that occur in interpersonal communication transvestites. Communication patterns that occur between fellow transvestites or transsexuals with non-transsexual community who are in the "circle" of their association is the primary communication patterns, circular and non-formal. While the patterns of communication that occurs between transgender and non-transgender community who are outside the "circle" of their association is primary, linear, and formal
