Therefore, regarding ::importance of vitamin D in health and by considering this fact that vitai- -D deficiency causes some irreparable results, this study aimed to deterrn -=the frequency of vitamin D deficiency among women of reproductive age -Kerman city durin g 20L7 .Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 20t7 on women :'reproductive age in Kerman city for determining the frequency of vitamir ldeficiency. The participations who were women of reproductive age, we-.selected non-probability among refered pations to Kerman Besaat Clinic : "regarding to four separate distinc of Kerman and their residence, invoi ,:the city's center and margin of Kerman. After taking Informed conser:Specifications of participants include of age, occupation, residence, mari::status, midwifery history (number of pregnancies), Brest feeding histo--and pregnancy status at sampling time, was recorded. In this stage tl=women with liver or kidney disease, endocrine disorder, and also thos:with a history of taking anticonvulsant medication and corticosteroids wer:excluded. Serum Ievels of 25OHD was determined using an ECL assay afte-blood sampling and transfer samples to the centrifuge lab.Results: 250 participants were investigated whit average 30.87t8,C.years old. The average serum levels of vitamin D by using the 25OHlvariable was calculated 18.75i16.05 ng/ml in overall. The prevalenc:severe (less than 10 ng/ml), moderate (between 10 and 30 ng/ml) ar:normal (more than 30 ng/ml) vitamin D deficiency was calculated 31,251.6 and L7.2 percent, respectively. According to this finding, in generaB2.B pafticipants suffer from vitamin D deficiency. Also, the statisticaanalysis shows that the relationship between deficiency of vitamin D ar:any variables include of age, occupation, residence, marital status an:midwifery history wasn't statistically significant.tcConclusion: According to this finding high vitamin D deflcier':,still remain an important attainable issue. It seems the spec':Muslim women, women's use of sunscreen that hurdle obta ^ -: :--by skin and Iess expose to sun because of less being outd:,:- ='.reasons of high prevalence of vitamin D deficienry boughTherefore, the intervention plan seems essential to avoid comp ca::-svitamin D deficiency such as medication treatment andnationally-mandated food fortification programs to prevaler:complications of deficiency and enhance the intake of vitar- -.cl
